John Calder Brennan Library

The Society has an extensive collection of records, photographs, books, files and items related to Laurel history. These are catalogued and available to researchers.

A selection of materials is available digitally, including the Laurel Leader collection from 1897-2008. Some materials are available online, see our full research policy below for more details on access information.

The library is named after John Calder Brennan (1908-1996), a Laurel resident for 50+ years who researched and published information on the history of Laurel. His extensive collection of Laurel-related materials was donated to the LHS at his death.

The library is open by appointment. Appointments can be made throughout the week between 9-3 for additional research opportunities.
